This package was built in a FRG environment and uses many of their
libraries. It is not required to use FRG in order to run this build of
VLC, but it is helpful. Absent this, the developer's list of requirements
should be sufficient. However, you will need to replace for yourself
those libraries which FRG provided by default, or simply download them
from the FRG server and install locally.

If you have problems using the visualizations, start vlc with the
following command:
$ vlc --audio-visual="visualizer" --effect-list="spectrum"

The skins2 plugin if effectively broken and really should not even
be enabled during compilation. However, you may be able to get a few of
the skin2 files to show so it remains enabled for now. But on the whole
don't expect them to work, and there is no need to report errors that
you may encounter with their use.

It is critical that all files and the proper versions listed in the
slack-required file be installed before attempting to run VLC.

The dependency on libiconv has been deprecated in this build.
