translit inrange outrange string
              Translate characters in string, changing characters
              occuring in inrange to the corresponding  character
              in  outrange.  Inrange  and outrange may be list of
              characters or a range in the form `A-M'.  For exam-
              ple:
                      translit a-z A-Z foobar
